I just LOVED this Mom’s approach to designing her family’s style for their holiday photo session this year.  She had seen in Vogue that this year’s hot color was a deep red wine/burgandy – she took that and ran with it and what resulted was just exceptional!  Note her fabulous deep red shoes, the jumping off point from which everything else coordinated.  Using just three colors everyone looks cohesive but NOT matchy-matchy 🙂  Layering her outfit with the scarf provides depth and options, on/off, different ways of wearing it for different feels, plus Dad’s pattern, never fear pattern!  Then again, keep it minimal so that things don’t get too distracting.  What would you wear for your dream family session?
