April showers bring May flowers or, in this case, chalk! This pretty little chalk walk was inspired by the shelter in place order issued here – in our very own neighborhood! It’s the perfect example of the positive side of humanity shining through with little artful acts of kindness. I’m inspired to create something of our own – something that brings happiness to the eyes and soul!

I first saw inspiring chalk messages popping up when the shelter in place order was first issued. Sadly, some of the most fun chalk art I saw got washed away by rain, but there’s still so much good stuff out there! And especially after the longest April known to man, here’s to a May that is bursting with color!
I’ve also noticed a lot of painted rocks popping up, which bring the most beautiful elements to neighborhood walks!
I must admit I’ve been enjoying the slow-down, because we have a new baby at home. I’m able to have my family all to myself and not worry about missing out, as everyone else is at home, as well! I love the way our community is coming together. Plus, the bright colors on the sidewalks and in greenbelts are so fun.
Clearly, we have a great neighborhood! Everyone has really come through with the sunniest chalk art. I love seeing all of these bright colors against concrete – they are just so happy!
Isn’t it the sweetest?! I can’t wait to add some more details of our own, as well. There’s something about bringing people cheer!
Have you created any chalk art in your own neighborhood?
